Fabulous

I am back again today with another card.  This time I used the Flamingo Floatie stamp set from Neat and Tangled to create a card.

The first thing I did was cut a piece of white card stock with the largest die in the Blueprints 13 die-namics. I then used Mermaid Lagoon distress ink and the Waves stencil from Hero Arts to create the water for the Flamingo Floatie.

I stamped a couple of water splashes and coloured them with Copic markers and then added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to dd some gloss and dimension.  I also coloured the Flamingo and girl image with Copic markers and popped it up on the waves with some foam tape.  I added a two toned sentiment and then backed the panel with some aqua card stock to highlight the water.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

You Are My Sunshine

Welcome my friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Today I created another beach scene card, this time using the absolutely adorable Beach Day stamp set from Neat and Tangled.

I decided to put the cute little Elephant into a one piece bathing suit.  I used cool gray Copic markers to colour the skin of the Elephant and the E40 range of Copic markers to colour the skin and horn of the Rhino.

I again used the Beach Scene Builder dies-namics from MFT Stamps to create the sand and sea from some white card stock.  I inked up the sand portion with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs distress inks, which I also sprayed with water and blotted up the excess to create some texture.

The sea portion was inked up lightly with Tumbled Glass distress ink and then I pounced some Mermaid Lagoon distress ink over a Stencil from Hero Arts that I received in their May 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit.

I also used the Tumbled Glass distress ink to ink up the clouds in the sky, using some card stock masks I created using the Puffy Cloud Borders dies from Lawn Fawn.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Neat and Tangled - Beach Day
Dies: MFT Stamps - Beach Scene Builder,  Lawn Fawn - Puffy Cloud Borders (For creating masks)

Lovely Day - MFTWSC341

Hello my friends, I hope you are having a good day so far.

Today was the first time in ages where it was quite cool and overcast this morning and I though I might actually need to wear a sweater.  The clouds have now burned off and it is gloriously warm and sunny again.

I was inspired by this week's sketch from the MFT Card Challenges, to break out the Fresh Squeezed stamp set and make a card.

For the little girl image, I paper pieced her dress and coloured the rest of her with Copic markers.  The background was created by using a piece of design paper that was edged on the top and bottom with one of the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges dies.  I created the square frame by cutting some white card stock with two different sizes of the Stitched Square Stax dies and then popped up the frame onto pink card stock with foam tape.

I finished off the card by adding a sentiment, some Glossy Accents to the glass of lemonade and some Pink Lemonade Sequins.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

At The Beach

Hello my friends, I hope you are having a wonderful week so far.

I have a card to share with you that features lots of products from MFT Stamps.

I first made the beach background by cutting white card stock with the Beach Scene Builder dies.  I coloured the sand, water and cloudy sky with distress inks.  The palm tree was cut from coloured card stock, with the same die set, and then edged with distress inks to add some detail to the tree.

The girl on the beach is from the Pure Innocence - Beach Day stamp set and the mermaid and her rock are from the Birdie Brown - Mermazing stamp set.  I glued the mermaid directly onto the card front and popped up the beach girl with foam tape to add a bit more dimension to the finished card.  It was hard to get a good picture to show that I also added some glossy accents to the swim ring to add some more fun to the card.

Here are a couple of pictures of the card, which I m loving.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Pure Innocence - Beach Day and Birdie Brown - Mermazing

Hello my friends, I can't believe we're at the end of the first week of July already.  We have been have gorgeous weather here lately, so it's just a little harder to get into the crafting mode.

I did manage to make a card today for the current sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges.

Very Apeeling

Hello my friends and welcome back.

Today I am sharing one more card that I created using the Love Ya' Bunches collaboration stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn and Ellen Hutson.  I am really loving this set.

With this card I am showing the "boy" monkey likes the "girl" monkey so much, he is willing to share his banana.  😊

I cut a panel of white card stock with the largest die in the Blueprints 13 die-namics and then cut a circle in that panel using one of the dies from the Stitched Circle Stax, both from MFT Stamps.

On the actual card base, I inked on some Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and sprayed it with a bit of water and blotted up the excess, to add a bit of texture.

I then created the little monkey scene and glued all of the pieces together onto the front cut out panel and then popped up the whole panel with foam tape.  For the finishing touch I added a few sequins from the Pink Lemonade sequin mix from Neat and Tangled.

Swing By Soon

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today I have another card to share using the Love Ya' Bunches stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn and Ellen Hutson.

I was inspired by a card that Kay Miller made for the release of this collaboration.

I created the background by using Cracked Pistachio and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink pads that I smushed onto a Ranger craft sheet and sprayed with water.  I then dipped the card stock panel several times into the ink, drying in between layers.

I popped the background panel and all of the stamped and coloured images on foam tape to add some extra dimension to the finished card.

Mermaid For Each Other - MFTWSC338

Hello my friends and welcome back.  It's the first week of summer and the weather has been beautiful lately!

I finally made another card.  This time using the sketch from MFT Card Challenges.

Instead of using the heart on my card, I used a mermaid and fish from the Birdie Brown - Mermazing stamp set from MFT Stamps.

I created the background by using the Radiating Rays stencil from MFT Stamps and Broken China and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks.  I first taped the white card stock panel down to a board, so it wouldn't move, then I laid the stencil over the panel and taped that to the board as well.  I inked up the top half of the panel with Broken China, using an ink blending tool, and the bottom half of the panel with Cracked Pistachio.  I then lifted up the stencil and inked over the remaining white portion, lightly with both inks.  I then generously sprayed the back of the stencil with water and placed it back down on to the inked panel, which gave the background a more distressed and scattered look.

I coloured the mermaid and fish with Copic markers and added them to the front of the card and added a few drops of the Morning Dew Crystal Drops from Nuvo as the finishing touch.

Here is the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown - Mermazing
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 20 and Blueprints 27
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Oxide - Broken China and Cracked Pistachio

You Are Jawsome

Hello my friends, I hope you are doing well.  For the last week or so, I have been a crafty slump.  I love seeing what people are making but had absolutely no energy/desire to make anything myself.  I think I became discouraged when the day after I made a paper rosette wreath for my front door the matched a lantern I decorated, the lantern was stolen.  I can't believe that such a thing would happen.

Although I don't think I'm totally over my slump, I did manage to make a card using the new Duh-Nuh stamp set from Lawn Fawn which I combined with their Mermaid For You set as well as the Beach Scene Builder die-namics from MFT Stamps.

The shark, rock and mermaid were all coloured with Copic markers and the ocean, sand, sky and palm tree were all coloured using Distress inks on white card stock.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Duh-Nuh, Mermaid For You
Dies: MFT Stamps - Beach Scene Builder,  Lawn Fawn - Ocean Wave Accents,  Puffy Cloud Borders (For cloud stencil)
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass - Sky,  Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch - Ocean,  Gathered Twigs - Sand, Tree Trunk and Coconuts,  Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn - Palm Fronds

Summer Welcome Wreath

Hello my friends and welcome to the first full week of June.

I really wanted something for my front door but didn't want to spend much money.  I was looking at Pinterest for ideas and saw some patriotic rosette wreaths that I really liked.  For my wreath I wanted to make it more versatile, so I can keep it up all summer.  I used paper that matched the little Welcome Banner I made for my lantern that is on my front porch.

Here is the finished wreath.

The first thing I did was make my own wreath form by tracing a pizza pan and then a dinner plate onto a piece of cardboard.  I cut out the ring using a combination of a box cutter and scissors.

I then made a bunch of rosettes using the Dear Jane 12 x 12 paper stack from DCWV.  I cut 12 inch strips into widths ranging from 1 1/2 inches to 3 inches wide and scored the strips every 1/2 inch.  I then accordion folded the strips and glued two 12 inch strips together and pressed them down, into hot glue, on card stock circles.  I arranged some rosettes on the form to get an idea of how many rosettes I needed.

For the next step I created a Welcome Banner using the Pennants dies from Little B and High-Rise Alpha Uppercase dies from MFT Stamps and glued then onto a length of natural hemp cord.  I used the largest flower centre die from the Plentiful Petals dies from MFT Stamps to make the centres of the rosettes.  I then used hot glue to attach the rosettes and banner to the wreath form.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Dies: Little B - Pennants,  MFT Stamps - High-Rise Alpha Uppercase and Plentiful Petals
Design Paper:  DCMV - 12 x 12 Dear Jane paper stack
Other: Recollections - 65lb Coral and Green card stock, Black & Gold Halloween 6x6 paper pad,  Hemptique - Natural 20lb Hemp cord,  Cream Grosgrain ribbon,  Cardboard

Thank you so much for taking to time to drop by.  I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

Dance Through Life

Hello my friends and welcome.  I hope you are having a good weekend so far.

Very recently I saw a card on the Sunny Studio Stamps Blog, made by Karin Akesdotter, where she created a pirate scene in a "polaroid" frame and it inspired me to make my own "polaroid" scene.

I looked through my stamp sets and found the adorable Trouble In A Tutu stamp set from Clearly Besotted that I had never used before.

The first thing I did was cut a piece of heavyweight card stock with the Say Cheese die from Lawn Fawn.  I then took the inside of the polaroid frame and stamped three of the cute ballerina hippos which I coloured with Copic markers.  I added a woodgrain floor, backdrop and curtains using Copic markers.  I cut a piece of blush pink card stock with the largest die from the Blueprints 13 die-namics from MFT Stamps and attached it to the A2 card base.  I then added a sentiment to the bottom of the frame and attached the "polaroid" to the card base.  As a finishing touch I added a few sequins and the card was done.

I love how the little scene turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Trouble In A Tutu
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Say Cheese,  MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black

Mermaids

Welcome back my friends!  Today I have a couple of cards using the May 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts.

For the first background I used the turquoise silk liquid ink, which was included in the kit, along with Frozen Lake Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and Open Arms Amethyst Starburst Spray from Lindys Stamp Gang.

I cut a white card stock panel with the largest die from the Blueprints 13 die-namics from MFT Stamps and then used the Reef Border and Frames Fancy Dies from Hero Arts to cut the design in the panel.  I glued the white card stock to the background panel and then stamped the sentiment in Grape Jelly shadow ink from Hero Arts.  I added a Copic coloured mermaid and a few drops of Morning Dew Crystal Drops from Nuvo.

For the second background, I used distress inks to create an ombre background, directly to the card base.  I then sprayed the background with water and then blotted it with paper towel to add some texture.

I again used the Reef Border and Frame Fancy Dies from Hero Arts to cut the design in a piece of black card stock and glued it onto the card base.  I popped up a mermaid, which I coloured with Copic markers, with foam tape onto the card front.  I love how the black looks over the ombre background.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Wish Upon A Star

Hello and welcome back my friends.  Can you tell I have been having fun with the new Upon A Star stamp set and matching dies from Lawn Fawn?

Today I have another card using these new products.

This time I used a piece of water-colour paper, which I cut using the largest die from the MFT Stamps Blueprints 13 set.  I then inked up the water-colour panel with several different shades of Distress Ink, although it's hard to tell that I used so many different colours, on the finished panel.  Once I inked up the panel, I sprayed it with some water and blotted it with a paper towel, to add some stars to the sky.

I cut a piece of black card stock, using the same Blueprints 13 die and then used a die from the Stitched Basic Edges die set from MFT Stamps, to make a hillside for the foxes.  I used Versamark ink  and some Detail Snow Embossing Powder to create the sentiment.  I glued the hillside to the water-colour panel and then attached that to an A2 card base.

I popped up the two foxes, that I Copic coloured, with foam tape and then glued the shooting star in the sky.  The last touch was to add a bit of Crystal Clear Sparkle pen to the star to add some shimmer.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Upon A Star
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Upon A Star,  MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 and Stitched Basic Edges

This time I used the Confetti stencil from Heidi Swapp and Metallic Silver embossing paste from Wendy Vecchi/Studio 490 to created the sky.

I used three bunnies and a sprinkling of stars from the stamp set on this card and popped up the whole panel on the card front for a bit of dimension.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Upon A Star
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Upon A Star
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers:  Bunnies - W00, W1, W3, W5, R20  Stars - Y02, Y15
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock and 65lb Blue & Kraft card stock,  Wendy Vecchi/Studio 490 - Metallic Silver Embossing Paste,  Heidi Swapp - Confetti 6x6 Stencil,  Foam Tape
